S4292 is a bill recently introduced in the US Senate by Sen. Mike Lee, and it needs our immediate, emphatic, and continuous support. Its purpose is to ensure that only US Citizens are allowed to vote in US Elections. Review the talking points and take action through the following steps:
- Email AND Phone your US Senators, emphatically stating “I want you to vote for the SAVE Act, S 4292 which ensures that ONLY AMERICAN CITIZENS are allowed to vote in our elections!”
- If your Senator tells you that this is already the case, reply this way:
- “No, only SOME of our elections are restricted to US Citizens – NOT ALL of them. The federal law 18 USC 611 makes that clear.” Tell your Senator: “I want ALL our elections protected!” And tell him/her to do the homework, checking out the National Voting Rights Act, as well as the FULL text of “18 USC 611, ‘Voting by Aliens.’” Tell your Senator, “This law clearly provides a loophole allowing voting by aliens, in Paragraph c) (3).”
- If your Senator tells you that this is already the case, reply this way:
- Email and Phone your STATE legislators (both your Rep and your Senator in the Pennsylvania Assembly,) telling them that Pennsylvanians need to be protected from having noncitizens voting in state and local elections. Tell them you expect them to craft state legislation which supports the SAVE Act premise.
- Ask them if they believe that only US Citizens should be able to vote in PA elections. A list of which PA legislators who support reserving voting rights for US Citizens is being maintained. Insist that they answer this question! Write down what they tell you, sign it and date it. Email their response with your name to bleasie@gmail.com. Add any other comments you wish.
- Attend your next County Council or Commissioner meeting and speak during the Public Comment period. Use this document as your talking-piece. Quote 18 USC 611 in your comments. (Practice it before you attend.) Understand what this statute says, and read it clearly, politely, and forcefully, so the entire room can hear it. After you have read the highlighted portions of 18 USC 611, say this to your council members:
- “Note that one paragraph states that it is unlawful for aliens to vote in these elections UNLESS they are authorized under a ‘local ordinance.’ I have 2 questions for this Council: 1) Has our County Council everenacted any local ordinance which would allow an alien to vote in our elections? And 2) What is this County Council doing to ensure that aliens are prevented from voting in our elections? What verification sources are you using to ENSURE that you are not registering noncitizens to vote in our Federal and local elections? Obviously, it is not enough to check for driver’s licenses and Social Security Numbers, because those artifacts NO LONGER demonstrate citizenship. NONCITIZENS can easily get them. So what sources ARE you checking?”
Post any / all of the following statements on all your social media accounts:
“Our Election Laws are RIDDLED with loopholes enabling non-citizens to vote! Examples:
- It appears that US Citizens living overseas may register and vote without any residence stateside, and without ID or proof of citizenship. Result: we really don’t know whether foreign nationals are voting in our elections.
- It seems that College Student IDs are accepted as proof of identity in almost every US State. But foreign students get these IDs also. So foreign students could be voting in our elections. Is ANYONE vetting these students’ citizenship? If so, HOW?
- 19 states issue motor vehicle licenses to Illegal Aliens. No driver’s licenses note the citizenship status of the holders. Since drivers’ licenses are accepted as proof of voter eligibility – but they are NOT actually proof of citizenship – we have a massive loophole which anyone can exploit to vote illegally.
- Contact your US Senators and demand that they support S4292, Senator Mike Lee’s bill, The SAVE Act!”
- 85% of Americans agree that ONLY US CITIZENS should be able to vote in our elections.
