House Bill 300 would force women and young girls to use women-only spaces with biological males, including locker rooms, dorms, overnight school trips and athletic competitions. (regardless of individual district policies). Democrat leader Senator Jay Costa – Allegheny County – introduced a discharge resolution which could force a vote in the Senate even without a committee vote. There are three session days left: Oct 21-23.
In states like Maine, courts have ruled to force school districts to permit boys using the girl’s locker room and bathrooms based on a HB300-type law.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
People can contact their State Senator this week and ask them to vote No on HB 300. Calls to district offices would be good. Or, use the PA Family action alert.
More information here when it passed the House (with one Democrat voting No and two Republicans voting Yes).
