NOTE: The Uniform Parentage Act bill would legalize very disturbing practices with human life. Provisions like this are currently only lawful in the state of California.
HB350, sponsored by Democrat Senator Benjamin Sanchez, would allow among other things:
TALKING POINTS
- A โcoupleโ (not just a man and a woman) who does not want to have their own child, to pay for an egg and sperm (genomes), through a contract with a company. Then a contract is made with a surrogate to have this baby.
- The babyโs birth certificate would not list the biological parents but the contracted parents.
- The child would not be permitted to know its health history until it reaches the age of 18, which would obviously hinder the ability to be aware of genetic conditions or predispositions.
- This a contract with a company who is selling the genomes and with the surrogate based on โintentโ to manufacture a baby. People have observed that this would actually enable the purchase of a baby that could eventually be trafficked.
- No eligibility screening for parents who are contracted to receive a baby.
- To make it sound better, there is a provision that someone can only sell 25 eggs, because it lessens the chances that someone would unknowingly marry their brother or sister!
ACTION:
- Call Senator Lisa Baker and tell her, for the reasons above:
- this is a horrible bill
- do not consider this bill
- do not run this bill.

Additionally, please contact your own representative and senator to let them know your views on this issue. You can read more about the bill in this story from PA Family.
