The following SIX gun control bills will be coming up for a vote soon. Contact members a) who are sponsors (see bill numbers) and b) in the House Judiciary Committee, to forcefully oppose these bills.
HB1891 would force gun dealers to upload every sale into a permanent digital database, turning Pennsylvaniaโs background system into a centralized gun registry. Once that data is stored, we are one amendment away from confiscation lists.
HB1432, with a Republican sponsor, representative Delozier (R88), would amend the current statute defining “abuse” to include “causing emotional distress” (very subjective), and would prevent such person from obtaining a firearm.
HB1476, with Republican sponsorship across the board, would amend current statute to define “intimidation” (relating to harassment or stalking) where the conduct is committed by a person 18 years of age or older against a person under 18 years of age.

– Sponsor: Representative Natalie Mihalek (R), Co-Sponsors: Rep. Shelby Labs (R), Rep. Kristin Marcell (R), Rep. Abby Major (R), Rep. Kathleen Tomlinson (R), Rep. Mike Armanini (R), Rep. Craig Staats (R), Rep. Andrew Kuzma (R), Rep. Mark Gillen (R)
HB1479, with Republican sponsorship across the board, would prohibit a defendant from posting to social media platforms or accessing social media platforms. The bill refers to “the defendant”. There must be due process and the presumption of innocence. This is reminiscent of UK-style monitoring – even PRIOR TO conviction.

HB1908, with Democrat sponsorship across the board, provides for prompt notification of arrest to the National Crime Information Center (or successor organization), and the Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network. This bill also provides for increasing penalties for recurrence. NOTE: These notifications are to occur, not following conviction, but upon arrest. This is a violation of our value of due process, and the presumption of innocence.
HB1909, with Democrat sponsorship across the board, increases the degree of offense for criminal offenses that are committed while violating 23 Pa.C.S. ยง 6114 (relating to contempt for violation of order or agreement).
These are the members of the Judiciary that NEED to hear from you…
