HB300 – 21 Pages
This bill wipes out decades of real progress for women, and erases religious freedom. It passed the House last session 102-98 and was blocked in the Senate. No Republicans who voted for this are still holding elected office in the House. See the text of the bill.
DANGEROUS HIGHLIGHTS & TALKING POINTS:
– Codifies “gender identity or expression” into state law.
– Eliminates religious freedom to oppose the woke agenda in these areas, coercing behavior that is in opposition to religious convictions
– Expands government authority over private actors. Businesses, landlords, employers, and nonprofits would be subject to investigations and enforcement actions for alleged violations.
– Cultural debates become civil rights cases. Disputes over pronouns, bathrooms, housing rules, hiring policies, or faith-based conduct could become discrimination cases.
This bill will not be assigned until the House is back in session, March 23. Presently it is awaiting second consideration. The Democrats will probably try to fast track this vote *before* the special election outcomes are certified. This would prevent new members from participating in a final vote (on about the 25th). If Republicans win the special elections, and the vote happens after certification, the bill could be killed in the House.
ACTION:
Contact vulnerable Democrats who may cross over due to tough primaries. Tell them this is the type of radical agenda that caused them to get their clocks cleaned in 2024.

Contact vulnerable Republicans who may go the wrong way. Tell them that their loyalty must be to their base. Pandering to the center is a losing strategy.
